About the Collaborative

The Collaborative was established in 2015 to tackle the region’s high rates of suicide, which remain higher than NSW averages with 40-60 suicides reported each year.

The Collaborative consists of representatives of more than 40 significant organisations, as well as lived experience advocates.

In this video, some members of the Collaborative reflect on what's going well, and what could be improved.

The Collaborative was recently successful in its application to be a trial site for Lifespan, Australia’s largest integrated suicide prevention program being rolled out in four locations across NSW, expected to reduce suicide deaths by 20% and suicide attempts by 30%.
